Sundog - Forward Air Controller (FAC), Capt. Tom Milligan, call sign "Sundog" played a crucial role in the rescue of the survivors of Stinger 41. Milligan, flying near Stinger 41 when it was hit, could see the crew as they bailed out. He was able to pinpoint the surviviors on the ground for rescue forces. His actions aided the safe rescue of seven members of the ten man stinger crew.
