Republic of South Vietnam - Major Moses "Mo" Alves, an Air Force Reserve Navigator flying with the 17th Special Operations Squadron, preflights the Night Observation Scope (NOS) before a mission into the night sky of Vietnam. On October 11, 1969, Major Alves was killed when his gunshhip crashed on take-off, killing six of the 9 people on board.
