Republic of South Vietnam - One of the family's favorite photos, Major "Mo" Moses Alves poses in front of his AC-119G Shadow Gunship. A navigator/NOS operator, Major Alves was killed on October 11, 1969 when his gunship, call sign Shadow Seven-Six, crashed shortly after take-off from Tan Son Nhut Air Base.
