by Larry Davis, Squadron/Signal Publications, 1982,
ISBN 0-89747-123-7

Larry Davis is a recognized authority on fixed wing gunships. Gunships: A Pictorial History of Spooky is a must have book for those interested in the evolution of the fixed wing gunships. Larry has mixed a blend of great photos, colorful graphics, and text that covers the AC-47 "Spooky", AC-119G "Shadow" & AC-119K "Stinger" gunships and the AC-130 "Spectre" gunship.

Gunships takes you on a historical journey of tactical interdiction using B-25s and A-20s during WWII right on through the heavily armed gunships used in the Vietnam War. Also included is a rare look at "other" gunships used in Southeast Asia. Stinger and Shadow troops you'll thoroughly enjoy his sections on the 119s.
